3 Days Murchison Tour

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]3 Days: Murchison Tour

3 Days: Murchison Falls Safari is the best short tour for seeing many savannah animals in Uganda, with excellent chances of spotting some of the highly sought-after big cats.

The largest park in Uganda, Murchison Falls National Park is the prime destination for wildlife and big game viewing safaris in Uganda. It is located along the Nile, covering 3,480 square kilometers of various habitats ranging from forest, grassland, acacia savannah, and aquatic. The park protects a large concentration of wildlife, including a remarkable 87 mammals and over 650 bird species. The park gets its name from the spectacular Murchison Falls, located on the Nile; the hike around these, the world’s strongest waterfalls, is one of the highlights of the Murchison Falls safari.

The 3-day Murchison Falls safari tour itinerary includes game drives in the savannah grassland and a boat safari on the Nile–activities that will expose you to many animals, such as lions, elephants, hyenas, giraffes, monkeys, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, buffaloes, and an array of birds, as well as wonderful scenery. The highlight, however, will undoubtedly be the hike to the top of the spectacular Murchison Falls.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs][vc_tta_section title=”Trip Summarry” tab_id=”1506075348623-b75c3bd7-4c56″][vc_column_text]

Day 2: Game drive and boat safaris in Murchison Falls Park to observe wildlife, then finish the day with a hike to the top of the Murchison Falls

Giraffe in Murchison Falls National Park You should be up by 6am, have a light breakfast, and set out for the early morning game drive. Murchison Falls National Park is divided by River Nile into the southern and northern region. The northern part, which is largely covered by savannah and woodland, support a lot more volume and variety of animals compared to the southern region, which has more forest covering. Thus the game drives are done in the northern region of Murchison Falls. The early start offers a better chance to find elusive predators, such lions, hyenas, leopards, and jackals, because they are still out actively hunting. Explore the game trails towards the Lake Albert delta, which is concentrated with big game, including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and many antelope. Enjoy the beautiful savannah landscape that is teeming with life and wonderful scenery. The game drive will last for 4 hours, and you will return to the lodge for a meal and relaxation. Afterward, set out for a 2-hour launch cruise (boat safari) on River Nile, beginning at Paraa and going upstream to the base of the Murchison Falls. The ride offers a variety of wildlife sightings. Crocodiles, hippos, and lizards should be anticipated throughout. Big game, such as buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes, can also be seen drinking and cooling off by the riverbanks. Upon getting to the bottom of the Murchison Falls, you’ll leave the boat and set out for a 45-minute hike up the rocks adjacent to the falls, where you’ll get to take in great views of the falls at different spots along the trail. At the top, you’ll find the tour guide waiting to drive you back to the lodge for dinner and rest.
